How long should you shower if you have dry skin?
Five to ten minutes, in warm water. The American Academy of Dermatology says short, warm showers help skin hold moisture. Close the bathroom door to keep steam in.
Keep it short and warm
AAD recommends limiting baths and showers to five to ten minutes in warm water.
Use less cleanser
Use a gentle cleanser, and only where you need it. You do not need a thick lather.
When to stop
Stop a product and see a board-certified dermatologist if you get burning, swelling, blistering, hives, or symptoms that get worse. Get urgent help for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or lips.
