# How long should you shower if you have dry skin?

Source: https://hydratedskinlab.com/shower-length-dry-skin.html

Five to ten minutes, in warm water. The American Academy of Dermatology says short, warm showers help skin hold moisture. Close the bathroom door to keep steam in.

## Keep it short and warm

AAD recommends limiting baths and showers to five to ten minutes in warm water.

## Use less cleanser

Use a gentle cleanser, and only where you need it. You do not need a thick lather.

## When to stop

Stop a product and see a board-certified dermatologist if you get burning, swelling, blistering, hives, or symptoms that get worse. Get urgent help for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or lips.
